Enter For FreeI wanted to feel the sensation of the machine on my skull/face. The art is an expression of the sun, with the Eye of Ra on my temple. Ra is the Egyptian god of the Sun. I particularly love the story of his daughter Sekmhet the leonine goddess of war, healing and intoxication. My best friend Lars Widelle, Kelowna, did the piece. He’s done a lot of my work over the past 10 years. He’d never tattooed a skull before, so it was quite a learning curve for both of us.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?It would speak of my travels around the world. They are time stamps from different artists and memories we’ve shared over the years, in different parts of the world. They also represent the metaphysical plain of existence. The unseen. My favourite pieces/ connections with the artist, that have healed the nicest, and still look brand new 10 yrs later, are of Sak Yant tradition in the north of Thailand. The experience with this artist specifically was symbiotic in so many ways. I would love to be able to share something like this/ learn from different traditions, and help their communities a
