Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My sister and I wanted matching tattoos that we felt represented us. We’ve been through a lot of hard times together and wanted some peace to that. Making fun of our character arc and development and all. So we call it the cockroach cowboy. It’s a dancing cockroach with red cowboy hat and boots. Can’t kill these slick party bugs.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

Each one would talk about the special day I had and the people I got the tattoos with. Like in DC after getting dumped&my soulmate Shauna celebrated by buying us a tattoo gun to tattoo shitty aliens on each other. Or hiking with my oldest friends - found a lone tattoo shop in the Adirondack’s. Lovely crosseyed artist. An outline of the mountains was all of our first tattoo. None of us would admit we were scared but all too stubborn to bail. Not that deep but the connections are.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Without a doubt I would take my mother to Europe for her 60th birthday. She has always wanted to go to visit the town where my grandmother is from, more than ever now that my grandma has passed away. I would really want to give back to her for everything she has done for me&build new memories in my grandmas honor. Maybe I’ll leverage the experience for my mom to get her first tattoo with me! I would also put some toward my student loans & retirement because reality is a nightmare.
