Even though I found this tattoo on an artists flash page (@erikavendett), when I saw it I immediately connected with it. My thigh tattoo, a marble bust of Aphrodite entwined with a serpent, marks my personal transformation. Inspired by love’s natural cycle, it reflects beauty born of pain, the wisdom of renewal, and the power found in embracing every version of myself.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?I never thought of doing this, personifying my tattoo, but if she and the snake could say something in unison it would be: “I am divine and dangerous. I’ve weathered storms, shed skins, and emerged radiant. I carry the grace of love and the bite of truth. Don’t mistake softness for weakness... I am rebirth in motion.”
What would you do with the $25,000?I’d use the prize to elevate voices like mine: people healing and getting to know themselves better through art, ink, & self-expression. I believe that people today are scared to express their true selves & when they see others doing it they hate them for it. We need to be brave enough to look inwards in order to heal when feelings like hate take control. I'd support mental health resources, fund future tattoos with deep meaning, & invest in my journey as a human being to make
