I was having a challenging time coming to terms with having to say goodbye to my dad much earlier than I had expected. I had always assumed he would be around to witness important life events, watch my daughter grow up, and perhaps eventually share our love of Lord of the Rings with her. I established a sense of peace with saying goodbye by getting a Balrog tattooed on me, knowing that my memories of him will live on through a piece of art. It will always offer me a reminder of his strength.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?It wouldn't be a collection of words but rather an aura that could be left to someone's interpretation. From my understanding, Balrog's were once angelic beings who had been corrupted and ultimately meant to serve. While this may be quite literal, I view my tattoo as a symbol of incredible strength and as a symbol that although life is beautiful, there are also significant hardships individuals encounter. Surpassing these moments has taken much resilience, which I feel is represented in this.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I were to win, I would contribute a large portion to a RESP for my daughter. Anything remaining would go towards the student loan I accumulated while attending school to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
