Amy Valdes

I collect tattoos when I travel. I spent the last 2 years back packing Latin America & Europe. They each have their own story.

What inspired your most recent tattoo?

I got my most recent tattoo in Ecuador from a famous street artist named pino. @pinospupay or @pinodeagustana on instagram. I had been traveling for years and saw his street art everywhere and fell in love. I was in Banos, Ecuador talking to a guy I met in the street and pointed out a mural and the guy said the artist lives here in town and he does tattoos. I knew I had to get tatted by him. The original pieces I chose were of a man and a woman representing my light and dark, masc and feme.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

My ink tells a lot of stories, I have a lot of memorial pieces for friends who’ve passed. Pieces inspired by literature that kept me alive in dark times and random things that represent random moments in my life. I guess if I had to sum it up my ink would say this girl has seen some shit and she’s having a good time.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I met my person traveling in Latin America and we have been doing long distance for over a year and we are planning to move in together. I am saving up to buy us a house. I would use that 25,000 to put down on a home for us to live in and build our family in.
