What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo exhibits my love for impermanence. I am a fan of gothic art, architecture, and symbols. So I wanted to capture the beauty of the quintessential take of “Memento Mori”: the raven, the skull, mortuary flowers in both black and subdued reds. I don’t fear death as I once did. As time passes, so do family, friends, pets, etc. I came to accept my own mortality since we are all ultimately going to die someday and we are not getting out alive. LOL. There is beauty

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

If my ink could speak it would say that I will go on living with the light and the dark... the yin and the yang... the balance of all of the individual pieces that make me a unique and an evolving work of art. That is why I chose to have a light side to my body and a dark side. (Both sides will eventually meet in the middle somehow!) The dark side is death, impermanence, gothic, skulls, paranormal. The light side is life: nature, silly/goofiness. To me, the light and the dark keeps me balanced.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would take my family on a lovely much needed vacation. My husband and I have two daughters: a daughter who is about to graduate high school and a daughter who is just out of high school, trying to learn "how to adult". :) Meanwhile, my parents and brother take care of my declining 91 year old grandmother, which brings about trials and tribulations.
