My ink tells different stories, from my childhood abuse, my coming out and leaving the church behind and my belief in social justice.

Enter For FreeThe story of Medusa has always resonated with me. A beautiful woman, taken advantage of, then turned into the problem. As the story goes, she was 'cursed' by Athena to turn any man she looked at to stone, but I believe it was a protective blessing to keep her safe. While many view Medusa as a villain, for myself and many others, she is a symbol of strength and recovery after assault. My tattoo is inspired by powerful women who prevail through the worst circumstances.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?"No one is free when others are oppressed". This is the text listed on my arm piece, a wolf snarling against the rope containing it. To me, this tattoo is a constant reminder of what I stand for, that everyone deserves equal rights and respect, and anyone having that withheld, means there is still work to do. To me, this tattoo says, "I will fight for those who are hurting, even if they look, sound or act differently from me."
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the money to pay for top surgery for myself, my spouse, and my best friend. It's something we've all needed for our quality of life and mental health.
