Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

I joined the Navy in 2021 as a single parent of two amazing teenagers. While I was gone I depended on family to take care of them. I'm the only parent in their lives, so being away was very trying on all of us. I was granted liberty to go home for Christmas and having to leave again was heartbreaking. In order for me to spend more time with my kids, my best friend drove us back to Ft Sam Houston. While she was there, we got matching tattoos to commemorate our journey and unbreakable friendship.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

The first and only professional tattoo I got with my best friend, Meg. We met in daycare at 2 years old and have remained inseparable ever since. Together, we have carried each other through experiences that many only fantasize about or have nightmares of. I agreed to not only get a tattoo with her but give her total amnesty as to what it would be and where it would go. If my tattoo could speak, it would say, 'This isn't just for my friend, but my soul-sister".

What would you do with the $25,000?

Again, I am a single parent of two phenomenal teenagers, Logan (18) and Layla (16). Despite my efforts to earn two college degrees and join the Navy, due to the ever rising cost of living with no child support, the three of us have struggled financially their whole lives. I would use the money to buy them new clothes and put towards helping them set aside money for college and getting my son an inexpensive car for work and school.
