Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

Shining light on mental health, though my husbands death, inspired myself and daughters to continue to shine light into the darkness other individuals might be experiencing. I am working with NAMI MN and AFSP MN organizations to continue to Break the Stigma about mental health, encourage individuals to ask for help, and know it’s ok to not be ok. My daughters have both also struggled with their own mental health so encouraging them to keep moving forward; Live Laugh Love for Today.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

My ink says love yourself, love others, show kindness to all, inspire yourself and others, tomorrow is not guaranteed; Live Laugh Love for Today. Inhale the Future; Exhale the Past. You matter, and are loved. Shine bright for others who are in the darkness. Be your authentic self always. Inspire youth to follow their dreams. Inclusive for disabilities of all kinds and all people as we are all human and need love and kindness.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would be use it to help on a downpayment for my daughters and I to finally be able to afford a house of our own after losing Bryce to suicide in 2014. It’s been a hard long road for my daughters and our family. This would be a blessing we would use to build a life for ourselves and also share to show others challenges life presents, can be overcome and become inspiring to others. Our family has lived with family ever since Bryce passed, so having our own home, would bring joy to us all.
