Aurora Treeroot

My bodysuit isn't an aesthetic expression, it is crafted with yogic intent to fuel me to become everything human has the potential to be.

What inspired your most recent tattoo?

I consider my bodysuit as one continual piece, so it would be most recent. Seven years ago I began my bodysuit journey as a way to reclaim my life and my body after deep darkness and enslavement. This is my freedom. Each deity, from Machig Labdron, Garuda, to the ultimate sacred power of the Chakrasamvara across my back, was chosen by my artist (a practicing yogi for over 25 years) as part of my spiritual path and pursuit of the rainbow/diamond body. My ink inspiration, is TO BE the inspiration.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

My ink screams for humans to remember their full power, to remember the wisdoms we have carried for centuries, but were oppressed into forgetting. From under my skin, every drop of pigment demands we remember that we are sacred, that humans are the brain cells of the planet, just a piece of the whole. My ink sings to anyone that will listen to its song, that when we return to our original nature, we all will find healing, harmony, and lasting peace. My ink writes a poem of human, to go home.

What would you do with the $25,000?

My mom is in need of Carpal Tunnel surgery on both of her hands. She is retired and her insurance refuses to cover costs. She is an amazing mother and grandmother. Seeing her struggle to play with her grandchildren, or eat her favorite foods hurts me deeper than my darkness ever has. She has always been there for me, even though she dislikes my ink, she understands and accepts me as I am. She deserves to enjoy every moment of her life. Any remaining money would become a college fund for my son.
