My most recent tattoo is a skull wearing a necklace that has a charm for each of my three kids. The charms are tied to nicknames we gave them from a young age and represent their unique personalities. The tattoo reminds me that ultimately they’re my purpose and legacy. One day I’ll be gone and it is my duty to pour as much love and positivity as I can into them while I am here. They are the force behind every decision I make and there have been some personally significant ones.

It would tell the world how much I wish I could change it, or at least parts of it. It would say how much I care for the things I’m passionate about and how much conflict exists within. It would say how badly I wanted to achieve certain things and fell short. It would say that there is a fight going on inside my head every day to maintain balance. It would say how I wouldn’t trade what I have now for anything, but how I wish there were more paths towards peace and fulfillment.

I never got the chance to take my wife on a honeymoon; that would be the first thing and we’d do something modest as to not burn through the money. I’d use some of it to start investment accounts for my kids to set them up well down the road as adults. With the rest, I would love to start saving for a finished basement. I always dreamed of having a place that was really mine and reflected the things in life I love. It would be so much fun to start saving for that to make it real.
