What inspired your most recent tattoo?

I had open heart surgery in Jan. 2019, 5 months after getting out of prison. A week later separated from my 1st love. We reconected after 30yrs & had 4 yrs vested in relationship. I relapsed not caring about myself & heartbroken. I doubted my worth, value, and doubted my worthiness of love. After 2 yrs of being miserable in addiction struggling I decided something needed to change in my life. One day I read the Bible verse John 20:27 & thought this is it. My next tattoo.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

I have loved, cried, been independent and vulnerable. I’ve battled addiction off and on my entire life and somehow managed to never completely loose me in process or let it completely break me. Each one was gotten at low points in my life and were reminders of a life worth living.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would have a back piece done of a family tree where my parents were the roots and I was the trunk with the branches being my kids and the leaves falling being the grandkids. Names intertwined into the design. I want a piece showing I am rooted in life and that I am strong and important in this world. That I need to remain strong to support the generations I began with the birth of my children.
