Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo is a realism portrait of a female face with horns, and an almost spectral-like demon mouth showing inside the real mouth. If you’ve ever heard of the band Brand New, they have an album titled “The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me.” and I like to think that line sort of references it beautifully.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

We all have the power to choose to be either good, or do bad. That doesn’t make us good or bad - just human. My favourite ink is my little boy tattoo, trapped inside of a pumpkin and he’s crying. It’s a reminder of how I spent most of my life being bullied for having no front tooth, and I always allowed that to dictate my self worth. Once I saved up and got my tooth fixed three years ago, my very first thought in the mirror was “damn, I’m still the exact same person

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would put some towards getting a place of my own to live again. I would give back to Food Banks who have helped me in time of need. I would seek ways to help those who are in less fortunate circumstances that I have also found myself in. I would also buy my son a closet full of animal print clothing, we definitely need to match and get on that early. Sometimes people need more than hope - We need help. I need that. This could be that.
