Brook Kidd

My ink is a form of self-discovery. I wanted nothing more to fit in growing up but my tattoos made me realize that I am ME for a reason.

What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo was a trad lady; inspired by my grandma who passed away. She was a strong and resilient lady. I knew I wanted to honor her through my body artwork from the second I got my first tattoo at 18.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

My ink would say that I am stronger than I think I am. I wear my heart on my sleeve but that doesn't mean people can use that against me; something I've struggled heavily with in the past. With each tattoo, I discover more and more of who I am.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 for mental health help as well as donate it to the women's center for eating disorders in my city. There is a lack of funding for it and many young women do not have access to funds or the proper care. I am a strong advocate for EDs and believe that this opportunity would help tell my story, in turn helping others feel seen and heard.
