I wanted a tattoo that moves with me when I dance—something that represents claiming ownership of my body and my story. Growing up doing ballet, it’s been a lifelong battle to feel at home in my own skin. But now? Fuck swans. I’d rather rock being the weird, wild ugly duckling any day. This tattoo makes me feel strong, beautiful, and fully myself every time I move.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?It would say, “You’ve always been enough.” It’d remind me to take up space, own my skin, and never apologize for being me. It’d laugh, dance, and remind me that the journey isn’t over yet—just getting started. It would also share in a cheers to 10 years in this crazy city!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would love to add to this design. I’d also love to help my boyfriend cover up his first and only tattoo. He hates it and I want him to feel as happy with his art as I do. I’d also love to help my new friend (the artist) continue with his dream. That’s how and why we bonded so much. He loves his art and tattooing like I love dance.
