I grew up catholic and lost faith at a pretty young age when the church was hateful towards communities I'm apart of and dismissive of my mother when she was seeking salvation. My mother died of breast cancer back in 2008. So to honor her and our catholic roots I'm working on a back piece of the virgin de Guadalupe but as the patron saint of switch blades. My mother had a tattoo of a sacred heart with my brother and I's name. So the virgin is holding that sacred heart.
