At the time I started to draw it out, because it was a cover up, I wanted to make it extra special. I had just moved to a new city, and I would take long bike rides around town, and became very familiar with the local crows. When I thought about what I wanted to tattoo to say about me, the crows inspired me to view things from a higher perspective. I feel like it helps me through obstacles big and small everyday.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?They’d probably call me a nerd first haha! A lot of my tattoos are things I loved when I was younger, that continue to take on a much deeper meaning as time passes. Some of them are friends’ artwork, some are my own. All of which are integral parts of me at my core.
What would you do with the $25,000?The first thing I’d do is help my mom renovate our family home. It’s an adobe house that’s been in my mother’s family since the late 1800s. I am so inspired these days to not only help her get it back into shape, but to help her enhance it, and honor the legacy of her family.
