In 2020, while living in Canada during the pandemic, I received devastating news—my beloved oldest sister in Colombia had suffered a stroke. Mentor, guide, and soul-friend, she slipped into a coma. I flew home, clinging to faith. A month later, her eyes opened and she spoke my name—pure joy. To honor her second chance and my roots, I inked a vibrant Colombian hummingbird on my skin—her spirit, our bond, forever in flight.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?Etched in ink, my tattoos tell the story of a Colombian woman shaped by a strong matriarchal family. Raised in a machista society, I rebelled—fighting to define womanhood on my own terms. Each design marks a step: from fiery youth to a mature woman grateful for her mother and sisters, awakened by art, travel, and joy in life’s small moments. My skin is my story—of struggle, growth, and quiet triumph.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I win $25,000, I’ll invest in a dream project: a bilingual website (English and French) to showcase Colombia’s beauty and magic. After nearly 10 years abroad, I’ve come to see my country with new eyes. This platform will promote small travel agencies led by Indigenous peoples and vulnerable communities affected by violence—offering the world a new vision of Colombia while supporting those working for peace and dignity.
