What inspired your most recent tattoo?

A severe pollen allergy! A few springs ago, after a bad season, I added some daisies to my sleeve (they are particularly irritating to allergy sufferers). I’ve always been captivated by flowers, largely because I think I haven’t had much access to them when they first appear each year and I’ve always enjoyed the paradoxes that they present—they smell beautiful but can induce a painful reaction; they symbolize life but are generally short lived.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’m a high school teacher at a public school in Manhattan—that type of money would be life changing. It would allow me to finally renovate my apartment so I can fix my kitchen. I currently have a tub in my kitchen and zero counter space so cooking is super rough. I could finally fix it so I could cook more and save a lot of time and money. I’d also love to be able to use some of that money to help me buy some resources to expand my curricula to help better support my Spanish sp
