I tattooed myself for the first time in 2020 and what stayed consistent throughout every piece of artwork I put on my body, is that I never cared about what the tattoo design was going to be. I only wanted to hide the person I was and create a new unrecognizable person than the one who was traumatized in their past - and as fast as possible. Now I have 150+ tattoos of completely random things such as a fridge, a game of tic tac toe, a faucet, and my most recent, an eight ball.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?My ink not only demonstrates my growth as an artist as my skills have improved, but my growth as a person as I have healed through this journey of tattooing. From my tattoos I have discovered the importance of being present, to appreciate our one chance at life, and that each persons individual path is for a reason. Even though I was given a life with an extremely abusive, traumatic, and painful start, I would not be myself today without it. Just as a tattoo is permanent, so is our past.
