Enter For FreeMy last chest piece was venom. I chose this piece because of the similarities I felt with the character. Venom is trying to find a host that he is compatible with. Through out my life and until recently after dealing and processing the events of October 1st in Las Vegas, I learned that the person I’m compatible with, is me! I feel as a kid my childhood was cut short and forced me to an adult. Each piece is me rebuilding myself
If your ink could speak, what would it say?It would say that my ink is a display of the evil in this world, but also predominantly displays the good out there, and in us as people, we just have to find it. As a first responder I’ve seen some of the most atrocious things done to people at the hands of others. The horror art is my way of copping with what I’ve seen. My Tim burton/superhero ink inspires me to be myself in a world full of conformity, and not be afraid to keep moving forward.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would definitely kick my artist down some of the winning. I’ve had the same artist for the last 14 years, and I feel we’re more like close friends now with all the sessions and life advice he’s given me in regards to my family. I’d share with my daughters,as they have been a big inspiration for my pieces, and the critiques they’ve given me on placement. The remaining I would pay off me and my wife’s remaining debts, and take her on a much needed vacation.
