Learn MoreI have Rosie the Riveter ( Steam punk style) on my right arm. I just had her done a couple of years ago. Rosie has been a symbol I have always identified with as the child of 2 steel workers and sister to a steel worker. But now my oldest son, who also has Autism, has become a third generation steel worker. As the first person in my family to go to college and a teacher, I will always respect steelworkers and the work my family does. Rosie is constant reminder of my incredibly strong family.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?My ink tells my story. My Alice in Wonderland tells the story of my experience as a mother and special education teacher. Anyone who has ever invested time working with kids with mental issues, trauma or neurodivergence can tell what it feels like to go down the rabbit hole. My book tattoos tell the story of my respect for learning and teaching.Teaching isn't my job. It is part of me.
What would you do with the $25,000?I am the mother of 4 adult children. This year my youngest graduates from high school. While some bills should be tackled, I would love to have this last summer to enjoy with my kids. I would not work a summer job (usually I have to work a summer job). I would take some time to spend with my kids and then plan a short motorcycle trip for myself. I am so proud of my children, but it took work to get them where they are. A solo trip would be a great way to say goodbye to being a full time mom.
