What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo is a very simple tattoo of the sun fading over water. It is on the arm that contains two tattoos the first being my son's handwritten script "I love you mom🤍" and the other a representation of a peace of art he did while he was little. It isn't complete because the artist that did the work passed from cancer. I feel that it would be wrong to complete by another artist. I call that arm my son arm. So the sun fits in an ironic way.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

My ink is like a patchwork quilt made of scraps from clothing worn by loved ones. Each piece says something about those I love/d. Each placed as a loving reminder of the best moments in my life. And a few that while not the best time in my life a time in my life that I persevered the trying parts. Good, bad or otherwise I'll carry this eclectic pieces of my life with appreciation.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I'd like to do a piece of work reminding me of my favorite place in Michigan. It would be the outline of Leelanau county Michigan with Petoskey stone prints along the bottom, a heart over Suttons Bay where I lived, and the iconic M22 sign. Because those who know that road know it isn't just a road it is a way of life.
