What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My last pieces were inspired by my son, who is struggling with schizophrenia, and my work in slow counseling. The piece for my son is a scarab beetle, symbolizing the process of becoming, growth, overcoming difficulties. The wings have two lotus flowers, that symbolize two dear friends who died. I like to think they are watching after my son. My other most recent piece is gorgeous lilies with a snail. This reminds me to be slow and focused, and always see the beauty that surrounds me.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

I am GORGEOUS and BAD ASS! My work is bright, beautiful, feminine, edgy, and unique. Each piece represents an experience, process, relationship, and trip around the country and world. My art says that I love to travel and experience life to its fullest.

What would you do with the $25,000?

My partner died unexpectedly and tragically of acute leukemia in November. Unfortunately, he didn’t have any life insurance or health insurance. Our daughter turns 8 today. The money would help me to care for our daughter and repay debts accrued in his last month of life. In addition, I would donate some to the ACLU because they are fighting so hard for our rights every day.
