Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo is the dragon and peacock on my right arm. My mother passed away in October 2021 and my father in February 2023. The peacock represents my mother, she always loved them and we even had one in our backyard for a bit (probably illegal). The dragon is my dad whose Chinese zodiac is a dragon but we also had an inside joke that when I turned 18 I could get a tattoo and I would get a small butterfly and he said might as well do a huge dragon on your back.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

My ink represents who I am, my story and my culture. With failed relationships but the strength of my parents keeping me anchored.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I am a single mother of two. Ages 2 and 16. I’m getting ready to retire from the army after 20 years and my dream is to have a Thai food truck to honor my mother and father. My mom taught me how to cook (she was born and raised in Thailand) and she wanted a restaurant. I like to travel and I would like to invest in a food truck to introduce home cooking and traditional Thai food to the masses. I love cooking and I’m teaching my kids how my mom taught me.
