I suffer from depression & wanted to tell my story through art. I wanted to remind myself of my resilience to keep pushing. A reminder of my strength & new beginnings.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?It’s ok to be broken on the inside, let it out but don’t stay there! Fight, fight and fight. Be as strong as a lion. Mental health is real and these new flowers blossoming are your new beginnings. This piece tells your story. Go out there and share. Let them know they’re not alone in the struggle.
What would you do with the $25,000?First and foremost I would finish my sleeve on my right arm to better tell my story. Then start a sleeve on my left arm. I would find my own place as I’m currently in the middle of a divorce, but we’re still living together b/c I can’t afford to save & move out. I would donate some of the prize money to organizations that provide mental health support and fund mental health health research. I would take the rest and open up a savings account.
