Pebbles, my 16-year-old Boston Terrier-Bulldog, is my heart in ink. She’s been my quiet strength through grief, change, and healing — a loyal companion after losing my (human) best friend, and as I became an empty nester. As a service dog, she comforts strangers and clients, but she’s seen every raw, broken piece of me — and stayed. My newest tattoo is a tribute to the love that never left my side!
If your ink could speak, what would it say?If my ink could speak, it would sing of battles survived and love that refused to break. It would echo the voices of my children, the loyalty of every soul and creature who stayed, and the music that stitched my spirit whole. It would whisper of stars and earth, grief and becoming — but make no mistake, it would roar too. My ink would say: ‘She rose. She burned bright. She loved hard. And she never once dimmed her flame.
What would you do with the $25,000?I’d help my son finish his final year of nursing school — a huge accomplishment, especially as he’s worked hard to rise above autism and prove ability is the bigger part of the word. I’d also help my daughter, a young tattoo artist, open her own studio in San Francisco. She’s been building her name with passion and grit, and a little help now could change her future. This would lift both of them!
