What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo was inspired by memories from climbing a tree as a kid and my friend who I used to climb trees with said, “hey let my practice on you.” Other ones represent the sacrifices made by someone. At the end of the day we all answer to someone. Being able to do what I want when I want how I want. I was always told to stay a certain course. I think tattoos represent stages of personal growth and the price we were willing to pay. Taboos. Stepping stones into my past.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

Hey Ma, look at me. Not really. Keep going and keep disappointing other people with failures. See this lady right here, is tough as cold pressed steel and a huge heart sprinkled with a lil’ hood on swivel. Fear is a missed opportunity to learn. I received my first tattoo when I was 15. Each tattoo is like a book in my series of life.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would start a nonprofit for aged out kids from foster care that I started to write before my divorce. Return back to grad school and then maybe obtain my doctorate. Go on a mini vacation. Keep giving and investing in other people because all we are is the energy we leave behind. Relocate west of the Mississippi? Adult? Be proactive.
