What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent…that would be a cover up for a tattoo I got at 17. At 17 I was a new mom and got a frog on my ankle for my daughter. While going through this divorce process I wanted to say goodbye to all the old and welcome the new. My artist did a sunflower realism tattoo to cover the frog.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

My ink isn’t complete yet and I’m still working on the story. But at this moment, it says there was a lot of hurt over the years and this ink has inspired courage and built self esteem. It would say that I’m my own person and finally make decisions that I know benefit myself. It says to let them be and do what they want. But I will breathe and move forward in this new journey.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I never thought I’d be asked this question. Going through this divorce, I tried to be as civil as possible. Wanted everything to be halved as fair as we could to keep it out of the courts. Doing so, I’ve hurt myself financially and I’m working toward buying my first ever place of my own. I would certainly use a portion for a down payment for a new home. And to pay off my debt. And you already know…finish out my ink work! I have much that needs to be done!
