My ink comes from a variety of sources through my life that seem random and meaningless to others, but I can pinpoint exactly who I was then

What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo is a colorful monstera plant, with a broken heart chain around it. Being diagnosed with CPTSD, and then now recently disabled due to genetic conditions, it’s representing the grief I have about who I was and thought I would be, but still growing into something beautiful and colorful from the dirt I was given as a base.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

I think it would say “get this girl some new meds PLEASE!” My ink is very deeply rooted in me, down to how I cope with my illnesses. To the outside eye, it is messy and random and colorful and all over the place. But to me, it’s telling my story. From my mother passing, to my reclaiming of my life through expression. It’s all written on my skin, and I love that.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Being newly disabled with Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and its comorbidities, I want to help find aids for people in my situation. I would first donate some proceeds to the EDS foundation, and then I would cover my medical bills and help cover my dogs vet bills. The rest would go towards funding training a service dog to aid me in getting back into the world.
