At a river in El Yunque, I taught a Puerto Rican priestess how to tattoo so she could tattoo me. We tattooed each other as part of a ritual honoring Taíno culture, our land, and Puerto Rican survival through colonization. It’s a tribute to resilience and preserving our roots.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?If my ink could talk, it would tell stories of passion, rebellion, sacred femininity, and hidden truths. It would speak of life’s deeper layers and the trust I place in my artist friends to use my body as a canvas, sharing their vision of my journey.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won $25,000, I would create stability for my kids and me after the breakup with their mother. I’d use it to show them that even through hard times, we stick together, rebuild, and grow stronger. I’d also invest in expanding my tattoo shop to build a legacy they can be proud of, proving that resilience and love can carry us through anything.
