Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

It actually started from a simple statement I sent to my artist. “I’m looking for something that conveys my awe of how small we are in this complex universe and the happiness found in solitude. We went thru a few iterations and it sort of took a life of its own. I had told my artist I was into diving and astronomy, which is where bulk of the theme comes from. At first, I thought it was just really cool, but the more I stared at it the more depth it unveiled.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

The peice portrays creation from the point of the Big Bang forward. Stars creating elements, waters churning proteins into DNA and the rise of humans in the galaxy. I’ve found that it keeps my mind rooted in a macro understanding. We’re so insignificant yet special and complex, and we worry about the most trite things. When I have anxiety, or worry, I just look at it and it gives me a very real remedy to the human condition. It says” nothing matters, except enjoying the ex

What would you do with the $25,000?

As this was my artists first full sleeve, it was a very cool experience to see his dedication to the project. I’d definitely kick back some money for him, proceed with some additions to the peices done on my body and take a trip somewhere :).
