I am a nurse, and my ink tells the story of the places I have traveled and the people I have helped and loved along the way.

Enter For FreeMy global study abroad to Mexico City last year where I partnered with Isla Urbana to help with rainwater collection for communities facing water security issues. I was inspired by their use of murals to encourage families to participate. I had Delfine write “Agua es Vida” in my journal and took inspiration from a mural they painted on an abuela’s home and came up with my simple but impactful tribute to the project. Because water IS life!
If your ink could speak, what would it say?My ink would be a historian of my past, present and future. My heritage, my love for world travel, human compassion, and international public health. I am also a henna artist, for myself and others. I want to tribute my work in Oaxaca with Mezcal Amaras where I created a wellness program to decrease accidents in mezcal production. I also want to tribute the "Journey of Hope" from my project in India with Orphans in Asia reminding me of the beautiful children I got to meet last year
What would you do with the $25,000?I would donate some to the orphanage and help pay towards my master's program student loans. I just applied to Radford University to continue my education in the Doctoral Nurse Practitioner program (DNP) leadership track with the goal of becoming faculty. I want to mentor and inspire the next generation of sustainability leaders to make great change!
