Kaleb Bailey

They all mean different things. But mostly (as a trans person) it all represents me being able to make my body into my own personal work art

What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo is a cover up. The original tattoo I let a friend do before I fully transitioned. I told him I wanted a sick zombie tattoo, so he made a hello kitty zombie. Needless to say I was devastated by that. Another friend of mine who is an amazing artist saw it and was equally as upset as me. So he gave me an amazing discount and covered it with a rhino beetle. I got the tattoo because when I was filing divorce papers from an abusive ex I had one crawl up my back.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

If my ink could speak it would say that it’s very diverse and widespread (haha). I have all different types and styles of tattoo but all of them mean something. I’ve gotten quite a few cover ups because well… I was 18 and had a full time job. As I’ve gotten older my tattoos have become a part of me. I have a few that I still want covered up but that’s another story to tell.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Right now I am a caregiver for my wife’s 92 year old grandmother, because she wants her final days to be in her house. 2 of her 6 children want to sell the house and put her in a home, but if that happened she would surely give up. She loves her home and does not want it to be sold. If I were to win the $25,000 I would purchase this house so she could live out her days in it. She had 6 children and 30 grandchildren that she helped raise. She deserves her final wishes to be met.
