Karina Treile

Having a Ukrainian Tryzub is deeply personal and original expression of identity. My design was done freehand, adding to its individuality.

What inspired your most recent tattoo?

The inspiration behind the stem tattoo on my finger is rooted in the symbolism of growth and personal evolution. It serves as a reminder of resilience and the continuous journey of self-development. This design complements the wheat stems on my back, which surround the Ukrainian Tryzub an emblem of my heritage and identity. Together, these elements represent a seamless continuation of growth, strength, and cultural pride.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

It speaks growth, humanity, freedom, love and protection.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were to win, I would use the opportunity to support my family in Ukraine, who are currently facing financial hardship. A portion of the funds would go toward covering my grandfather’s diabetes treatment, which has become increasingly difficult to manage due to limited resources. Additionally, my brother has been missing since the onset of the war; our greatest hope is to recover his body and give him the dignified burial he deserves. I would also continue investing in my education.
