Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo is a horse on my ribs, along my side. It represents running, wildness, and freedom—exactly how I feel when I’m out on the road during my runs. That’s also how I live my life.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

My tattoos tell the story of my life—what I like, what matters to me, and where I’ve been around the world. I collect tattoos the way some people collect fridge magnets. Everywhere I go, I get a souvenir tattoo. All of them are from different parts of the world, and each one holds a memory for me. When someone asks about my tattoos, they always bring up good stories, because I got each one in a different country, at a different place and time in my life.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’ve always wanted to cover my entire back. A long time ago, I started planning to get a full back tattoo, but somehow I never found the time or I guess the money for it. I’d love to have my whole back covered with a beautiful piece. And take my son to Disneyland.
