I wanted to represent my heritage and the love and respect I have for my culture and my family.

Learn MoreI needed to cover my first tattoo, which I got when I was 16. I found an amazing artist and told him the story of how my family escaped war and ended up here, and how hard my mom worked to support us and provide us this life. He created original art for what started as one piece (the cover up) and we just kept adding over time.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?I think that oftentimes, there’s an idea people have of me based on what I look or sound like. My ink tells a different story, the true story, of what is important to me and what has shaped me. If my art could speak, it would reiterate how life is full of surprises, and that people should stop judging a book by its cover. You would never guess that at a 40 year old, corporate project manager, mom of 3 would have a full back tattoo!
What would you do with the $25,000?I want to be responsible and pay off debt… but I also want to live life and enjoy every moment while I’m able to. So I think I would finally book a trip overseas for my family. I’d love to see where my parents came from, and to be able to share that experience with my husband and kids would truly be life changing and a dream come true.
