What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo is of a witch, a coverup to an old tattoo that never really meant anything to me. The witch represents “a ghost of my past”. It still has bits of the old tattoo showing through to remind me of where I came from and how far I have come. This piece shows shadows of the past and gives to new beginnings.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

Each piece of ink tells a different story. I have been through domestic violence in my past and have initials representing the person who has saved me. My nephew’s initials who passed of hydrocephalus is amongst my pieces as well. All have significant parts in where I am in my life today. The first tattoo i ever received was when I was young and rebellious. Everyday I look at it as a reminder that I am becoming more independent and mature as the days go by.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would put a down payment on a home for my kids and so I no longer have to stress over being in someone else’s space. Right now we are living with family but truly need our own place to be ourselves again. I want to make their life the best they could ask for. My three are what have kept me going for the past ten years and I am truly thankful for them being here and giving me motivation to keep on going.
