What inspired your most recent tattoo?

I loved the novel, “The Song of Achilles” and was inspired by their stone statues of course. I also love music and their appreciation for a hymn so my tattoo artist chose music from the song “What A Wonderful World.” I love to combine the past, present and future because time is not linear. I love that art can encompass that.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

That humans haven’t changed. I believe art can observe the world and not participate. My ink would say, “Thank you” because it gets to witness life.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I am a writer with a long list of people to thank for helping save my life. There’s a few dogs, family members and acquaintances on this list life has acquired for me. I want to give back in a monetary way that reflects my soul. I also want to pay off my credit card debt. Because life is good and bad.
