I love Japanese folklore, the jorogumo; the idea that something beautiful can also be incredibly heinous. Additionally trying to hide a very big scar and make it something unrecognizable to the naked eye so that when people look at me they don’t just see “damage” but rather somebody with a personality.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?It would say that tattoos are a form of expression and that they provide real value for those who have body dysmorphia in boosting self esteem. They offer an outlet to showcase your body and mind in a positive light and without any negative effects like surgeries can have. My tattoos speak to a love of art and culture whilst advertising that you can hide the scars you regret and boost your esteem and void insecurities caused by said scars. They represent a changed mindset of loving life.
What would you do with the $25,000?There are many ideas and options. The most important being my family. Being able to support my spouse in redefining their bodily image with tattoos or giving a boost to the college fund for my 2 year old daughter so that she won’t have to worry about paying a tuition in 10 years as inflation keeps growing so she can follow her dreams. Or even paying off debts and allowing my family to redefine our financial wellness and eventually be in a position to help other families with financial need
