The most recent was 10 years ago. In my 20’s I knew I was not going to stay in my little village in the Rockies. What I learnt about the land, spirits and elders of my village was special to remember where I can from. My chose to rest my dad’s ashes in this place of 300 people where he first brought my family from Jamaica. As I left to pursue a career in nursing I knew I was going to travel far away. And I did. And I wanted to remind myself always who I really am.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?Time passes fast and the days are only getting shorter. Remember that no matter who you become you will always be apart of the wild village. And the spirits of the Valhalla’s will guide me home- to my true self- when everything around you seems unsure, hard and confusing.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would give back to my family and friends who need it most. And would preferably like to open a street nursing not-for-profit to help those in my city as I watch daily those without homes struggle to get basic necessities or guided options. Everyone should feel they have a safe place to live, access to food and basic hygiene…a chance to feel safe and grow. I also lived on the streets as a teen and genuine help of others is what made me who I am today. I wanna give back the hope.
