It’s an Egyptian scarab, tied to the ancient belief that the heart is weighed in the afterlife to determine your fate. In the myth, a green (emerald) heart scarab was buried with you to protect your soul and sometimes even to lie for you—so your heart wouldn’t betray you. Heart is a heavy burden, : the emotional weight we carry can shape our fate, in this life or the next. For me, it’s a reminder of the emotional truth.
