Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

The day my grandfather passed, I was sitting on the porch as a Mourning Cloak butterfly flew past me. I took it as my grandpa saying goodbye to me. The Red Spider Lillies in particular come from an anime, Demon Slayer. They represent death, however they also signify that those who died will pass to the other side gracefully and in peace.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

If my ink could speak I feel like it would say, “LOOK AT ME!” No subtlety, no calmness just straight aggression. I think it’s because of the colors for one, they just scream at you, and the spider lilies seem to catch the eye of fellow anime nerds.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use this money to invest into my dream life. I’ve always told myself that I would like to create a life I never had because I feel like I owe it to myself. I’ve only ever experienced struggle and disfunction growing up so it’s time for a change. Not only do I want to take care of myself, but those in my circle as well. Most importantly, my momma. She means the world to me and I just want to be able to take care of her the way she took care of me.
