Spiteful ink! Got a clown tattoo but dated someone who asked me cover it up. Now I’m doing a sleeve of them and my room is a circus tent!

What inspired your most recent tattoo?

I got a giant jellyfish mermaid. Jelly fish are the most interesting thing in the sea from regeneration to a sexual reproduction to bioluminescence. I associate with them pretty heavily as a nonbinary person who feels more like an amorphous blob most of the time. I made huge clown painting for my tattoo artist and they freehanded it. We met when they did some clowns for me and we’ve gotten close enough that I told them to do whatever felt right in the moment (and knew my love for jellies).

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

Well I make a lot of spiteful music about my past and I think the tattoos have helped fuel that. A punk song that’s a mix of entrance of the gladiators, prog rock, and screamo. Each tattoo represents a different instrument with its own style, individual anger, and pain but fits together in unique, and fun jester like way.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’d be able to help fund the music I want to make with my all trans punk band, make art, and pay off some medical bills. I have a rare and difficult autoimmune disease called behcets that makes making art impossible at times. I have so many passions and being able to pursue them and have a way to pay my rent would be incredible. (I’d also probably get a couple tattoos, more cat toys, and a haircut I didn’t do myself) <3
