My most recent tattoo started as a giant squid—from hip to Achilles—to symbolize that intelligence is the ability to adapt. I got it for my two kids, who stood by me through single motherhood, early mornings in the car, and deep car-cuddle talks that led to promises of a deep sea diving adventure after they graduate. It includes a pearl fish for my son and a sapphire fish for my daughter—both finished. The rest isn’t, and I’m still hoping to find the right artist!!
If your ink could speak, what would it say?“She tried to follow the rules—chasing the American dream, doing what she thought she was supposed to. But we knew better. We whispered to her from day one, reminding her she was born to create, to heal, to break molds. Now she’s finally listening. With every line she tattoos, she’s rewriting her story—one of courage, purpose, and choosing art over expectations.”
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won $25,000, I’d open my own tattoo studio—a safe, welcoming space for kids, teens, and adults who are struggling to find their path. I’d bring them in to teach the empowering impact of art, how creativity can support mental health, and remind them of their strength through every line and symbol—whether they’re designing a tattoo or learning to tattoo on fake skin. My goal is to help others heal, grow, and find purpose through the power of artistic expression
