Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo was my Dia De Los Muertos sleeve which is inspired by my hispanic culture. The art style of Calavera has always been beautiful and holds deep meaning in my culture as a way to remember and celebrate the dead. The beginning of November has always been observed in Mexico for never forgetting the ones we lost but also not remembering them in sadness but instead celebrating their life. My sleeve commemorates those feelings and turns them into art.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

My ink would have a vibrant and vivid personality to go along with all the colors used. My ink stands out in a crowd and wants to be acknowledged. It would show people that it's okay to wear your culture and religion on your body without fear of persecution or judgement. It is also okay to have tattoos devoted to things that have impacted my life deeply, even if they are based on books/movies like Lord of the Rings. Each tattoo is one of a kind, just like how every person is unique.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use to money to buy myself and my closest friends more tattoos! I believe tattoos impact people in a deep and meaningful way, to have something on their bodies for the rest of their lives means something. I hate seeing the people I care about talk about wanting to encapsulate those feelings into art but lack the money to do so. If art can change people's lives, then what better use for the money than to change as many people's lives as I can.
