Being inked has changed my life. It has opened conversations with so many strangers, and has led to personal healing.

Learn MoreI’ve always been a big fan of the author Shel Silverstein. His book “The Giving Tree” is something I use as a therapist when facilitating groups. The image that I got inked (the old man on the tree stump at the end of the book) is so powerful that even my tattoo artist of many years let me read it to him as I was getting the inked. We both had tears in our eyes by the last page. The message of this book is so powerful!
If your ink could speak, what would it say?We all tell a story. Which one are you interested in hearing about? Be warned, however, while this canvas of inked skin has some fun memories, others are painful, and others may even relate to your own story. Hopefully at least one piece may even help you understand that permanently inking your skin can be an incredibly healing process. Finally, the artists that have shared their tattoo talent with me (Laurent Marin & Rose Hardy) will forever fill me with profound gratitude.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would immediately move the five hours away to be with my amazing girlfriend and her kiddos. We’ve known each other for a few years, but only started dating about a year ago. However, long distance sucks, especially wanting to spend more time together. Oh, and of course get a back piece! LOL
