Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My dad and I have had a rough history. He got me into “dad rock” but specifically Staind, and it’s the only thing we’ve been able to bond over. He’s 7 years clean from Heroin this year and I’m so proud of him. For my birthday last year I bought tickets to see Staind together and gifted them on Father’s Day. The tattoos were revealed there. If your ink could speak, what would it say?

Despite all the pain, beauty and growth are inevitable. Not just possible. Everyone has trauma unfortunately, I’m not special in that regard. “Suffering will always be grace if you choose it. So try not to get lost in the polarisation that you don’t see the process in it. That you don’t see it as a movement, as a dance, as a becoming, as a pathway.”

What would you do with the $25,000?

I was displaced after Helene. I am living in student housing for now, but I’m not a student. I would find an affordable and comfortable place, and use the leftover for my family. My baby brother had to move back home with my parents with my almost 2 year old nephew. My mom has stuck by my dad throughout everything and she deserves a break. Without her we would be/have nothing. Her unconditional love has taught me so much. It takes a village and I have her to thank for instilling that in me
