I went through a long mental health battle for much of my younger years but I found great solace in reading Marcus Aurelius’s meditations. I found a lot of comfort in his teachings whereby I felt I could derive purpose and joy regardless of my circumstances. This is why I got my forearm tattooed, where there is also a text that says “memento mori”. To me this means to live each day like that of a dying man, and to waste no instance ever.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?I feel it would speak a collection of stoic one-liners “Live each day like that of a dying man”, “a blazing fire makes light of all that is thrown into it”, or other quotations. I it could speak to me, it would remind me of my practices to keep myself level when times are chaotic and hard to manage
What would you do with the $25,000?Pay off my student loans, and help me with buying an apartment. I owe a fair bit of student loans, and the remaining amount would be used to help me save for a down payment on my first home
