My most recent tattoos are dedicated to my grandmother and aunt—two women who’ve shown up for me in the most powerful ways. I got their favorite flowers inked on the sides of my face as a permanent tribute to their love. After coming out as gay, my mom distanced herself, but these two never wavered. Every time I see those flowers, I’m reminded of the unwavering support and unconditional love they’ve given me.
